Vastushastra

Introduction

Vastu Shastra started around 3000 BC. Its proof is found in rig Vedas. Vastu or Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian system of architecture and design that emphasizes the balance and harmony between a built structure and its inhabitants. Aligning the structure with natural elements and energy forces surrounding it can help achieve balance.

Vastu Shastra is based on the concept of scientifically combining the five basic elements – earth, water, fire, air and space – to create a pleasant setting. Vastu principles integrated with architecture boost health, wealth, energy and prosperity and make the living or working atmosphere enlightened. It involves the application of Vastu principles to various aspects of a house, including its layout, design, orientation, and placement of rooms and objects. The goal of Vastu Shastra for a house is to optimize the flow of positive energy, known as 'prana', within the living space.

Vastushastra is also called vastu veda and vastuviday , 'science of construction' , 'architecture' is an ancient doctrine that consists of precepts born out of a traditional view on how the laws of nature affect human dwellings, The designs are based on directional alignments. It used to be applied in Hindu architecture, especially for Hindu temples and covers other domains, including vehicles, vessels, furniture, sculpture, paintings, etc. The foundation of Vastu is traditionally ascribed to the sage Maamuni Mayan ( Mahaa - muni maya , a daanava / demon reformed by tapasyaa / austerities ) in South and Vishvakarman in North India.

It is a science related to the construction of a house that deals with the utilization of five elements quite abundant and fresh for human beings on the earth.

Difference between ancient and advance Vastushastra

Ancient vastushastra is based on considering a single house whose ground floor rooms are connected to ground soil and all surrounding four sides of the house have empty space for free energy flow.

So restrictions come for multistory building stricture, as rooms are hanging on different floors. To overcome this advance vastushastra concept is followed by peoples in which different energy of house are checked with the help of different instruments. Advance vastushastra is an instrument base vastushastra followed by ancient vastu.
